Gaisburger Kirche

I found this lovely church in Gaisburg, a part of the Eastern Stuttgart, on my ramble through the East. It is the Protestant parish church. It was built from 1911 to 1913 by architect Martin Elsaesser.

A nice looking church. I like the details on the "saints" or whatever you call them.

What a cool setting the church has to overlook everything behind it from the hilltop. I always crack up at the portrayals of Moses with two horns, but I've never seen a statue of Paul with a phylactery on his head before. From a distance it makes him look a bit like Confucius with an Asian top knot :-)

Unusual church architecture. At first glance it looks like it might be an old government building.
