Lesson Nine: Swabian Escalation

Ja, auch die Schwaben können mit englischen Wörtern umgehen. Wenn etwas (z.B. ein Bier) als "echtes Glanzstück" beschrieben wird, dann ist das wirklich die Krönung.
The Swabians can deal with English words. It's like a coronation when they characterize a beer (or another thing) as a "real (echtes) highlight". I've learned that there is "echt" in English too.

The other day I heard at ARD or ZDF that the modern way of sprechen, which implies use of german and english Wörter in the same sentence, pronounced at german and english, could be called "Neues oder new esperanto". Esperanto is an artifical language. It is guite the same in Denmark, and I don't like this tendency. Of course an adaptation of words comming from other languages takes place. In a danish newspaper 1-2% has english and 25% german origin.

Hmmm... not sure I understand the linguistic lesson of the day. But I do understand beer, and that looks like a good one!
